The tour takes you to two of the most iconic places in Shire highlands region – Satemwa Tea & Coffee Estate and Mulanje mountain and their scenic surrounding. The first half of the tour will be spent on the tea estate to learn fascinating facts about the history of tea and the estate itself then explore and experience the scenic beauty of Mount Mulanje.

Day 1 Chileka Airport to Huntingdon House, Satemwa
On arrival at Chileka airport, you will be met and transferred to Huntingdon House.  The house was a family home built by Maclean Kay in the 1930s. Surrounded by sprawling manicured gardens with secret patios and terraces waiting to be discovered. Huntingdon House displays colonial beauty and unique character.

Day 2 Tea Tasting Tour, Satemwa Tea & Coffee Estate
Today you enjoy one of the not to be missed experience unique to staying on a tea estate. The estate’s guide will take us through the full process from planting through to harvesting and production whilst arousing your taste buds with different teas including white and green teas and other Satemwa specialties.

Day 3 Mount Mulanje
Drive to Mount Mulanje, Africa’s third highest free-standing peak. Arrive in Mulanje, tour briefing then ascend to Dziwe la Nkhalamba (old man’s pool) one of the finest features on the mountain. We drive back to Satemwa Tea Estate for overnight stay.

Day 4 Departure
This brings us to the end of our Shire highlands experience. Check out of Huntingdon House and transfer to the airport for your flight back home
